I have more than 23 years of experience in Conservation of historic monuments in Iran, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and Afghanistan. During the last 17 years, I’m working in Afghanistan as a senior structural consultant and project manager for the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. I trained a team of Afghans with different expertise (Engineers, Architects, masons…) and also helping the government of Afghanistan voluntarily in some of the conservation projects. I particularly design and execute many structural interventions on brick masonry structure (like structural consolidation of the Timurid Namakdan and the main iwan of the Khwaja Abdullah Ansari, of the Chaharsuq cistern – the biggest brick dome in Afghanistan -, and implementation of the consolidation of the Mumina Khatun mausoleum – 800 years old, 32 meters tilted decagon brick structure -, minarets of Karabaglar Mausoleum Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic). Three of my projects on Herat were honoured with Award of Excellence in 2008. In 2009 I was appointed secretary‐general for ICOMOS Iran.
